Adventure Across the Inter Webs: London Rain

Resiliently on one of my adventure across the inter webs I came across this song.

London Rain is a nice song for a quiet walk in the park.

(Thanks to Laurelin Marblestone for the lyrics.)

We stayed up past the shadows of the night
Debating our religion in the fading starlight
And what, if anything, distinguished wrong and right
Faces behind screens and city lights

I’m sipping peach tea at the break of dawn
Trying to find the step where I went wrong
But the footsteps in the sand have washed away

I’m watching Doctor Who in the dead of the night
Wishing for a way I could make things right
But the answer to my prayers has floated away
And I’m drowned in London rain
I’m drowned in London rain

My hometown is miles from the sea
But I see you in everything I see
Every cloud and every fallen tree
Sails me to my transatlantic fantasy

I’m sipping peach tea at the break of dawn
Trying to find the step where I went wrong
But the footsteps in the sand have washed away

I’m watching Doctor Who in the dead of the night
Wishing for a way I could make things right
But the answer to my prayers has floated away
And I’m drowned in London rain
I’m drowned in London rain

Politics and Presidents and parachutes and pain
Nothing left to lose except the love I gained
Cabinets and carbon and cabbages and kings
I can’t quite find the words to sing

I’m sipping peach tea at the break of dawn
Trying to find the step where I went wrong
But time has taken that part of me away

And I’m drowned in London rain
I’m drowned in London rain
